1974 Jaguar XKE Convertible
Engine: 5.3/272 HP
Body Type: Convertible
Total Built: 7,990
This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is a highly original, unrestored example of the V-12 powered British classic. Built in May 1974, it was equipped with the 5.3/272 HP V-12 with four Zenith carburetors, a Borger Warner 3-speed automatic transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes and all -independent suspension and finished in pale Primrose with a black interior, air conditioning and whitewall tires on chromed wire wheels. It was sold new to an elderly Arkansas lady who was looking for the nicest car the local Jaguar dealer could offer, to park it in the driveway of her new home. After her passing in the late 1980’s her daughter offered the car for sale in an ad in the St. Paul, Minnesota “Pioneer Press”. A local Jaguar collector answered the ad and found the car to be in immaculate condition with just 13,717 original miles on the odometer. In 24 years of ownership, he drove it a mere 497 miles. Although seldom used, it was always maintained in top mechanical and cosmetic condition by the collector’s own mechanic. Its original Pale Primrose paint is almost completely blemish-free & retains a high gloss, its chrome & stainless trim present even better. The interior is in likewise outstanding condition, and the top, while showing some wear, is still serviceable. The engine, transmission and body codes all match the factory date plate and all factory stickers & VIN tags are present and accounted for.
